Congratulations to Pablo Peguero-Winters, winner of the Encore-Clermont Philharmonic Concerto Competition!  Pablo’s performance of Zigeunerweisen by Pablo Sarasate during the competition won him first place honors and the opportunity to perform as soloist with the Clermont Philharmonic Orchestra during their 2015-2016 season.  Another PMW student, Beatrice Baker, won the competition in 2014 and soloed with the orchestra last spring.

Students competing for the award “displayed maturity in their playing…all played beautifully,” according to Marion Peraza de Webb, director of the Encore Chamber Music camp (CCM) where the competition was held this summer.

PMW student Christopher Huggins was second place winner with his performance of Concerto in G minor by Max Bruch , first movement.  Third place winner was Amelia Korbitz who played Mozart’s Concerto No. 5.

Stay tuned for the date of Pablo’s upcoming performance with the Clermont Philharmonic!
